Village Profile

Village Corps creates a unique, online profile of each village.  Initially, the profile describes the current state of affairs in the village and has some photos and maybe some videos.  It also shares the collective vision of the community and its prioritized needs. You can see an initial village profile for Zweledinga, South Africa by clicking here.

The Zweledinga profile is in Google Sites.  We manage the whole Village Corps process through Google’s online documents, calendar, etc.  We even have the university currently housed there so participants can collaborate, post documents, videos and chat.  In this manner, all partners and stakeholders have a central ‘meeting place’ that is coordinated by the Village Corps Fellow.

This same process is available to villagers as well.  Village Corps provides a laptop, cell phone and flip video to the village representative.  The community pays for the Internet access via cellular networks so photos, video and email is possible.

With access, the village representative can post information back into Google Docs for partners, donors etc. to see the progress and provide any feedback, if needed.  Once a village is in the Village Corps network, it is part of a global community of individuals, organizations and other villages all collaborating to help ensure the ‘regenerative prosperity’ principles flourish.
