Our development work begins with poor communities that are very large landowners. These poor communities have an unprecedented opportunity to transform their situation because their land can be improved and managed to help heal rapidly depleting, highly valuable natural resources.
We work in partnership with these communities to build large-scale master plans to help improve and manage their land. Based on these plans, we create businesses in sectors such as agriculture, forestry, livestock, bio-energy, building materials and agro-processing that best utilize the land’s productivity. These businesses address the world’s severe food crises, its energy and ecological security needs and its deep housing shortage.
These businesses also create jobs for villagers and community development income through land leases and profit sharing. We marshal community income to maximize development impact through the use of our Access™ platform – a comprehensive set of online resources, applications and services to address needs for clean water, education, health services, orphanages, etc. to systematically deliver enduring social, economic and environmental benefits.
