Village Corps works in partnership with poor communities that are large landowners to build large-scale master plans to improve their land and to comprehensively address their community-wide needs. We then implement these plans by creating businesses in sectors such as agriculture, forestry, livestock, bio-energy, and building materials that best utilize the land’s productivity to make premium, organic and rapidly renewable products to be sold to large multi-national corporations and government clients. These businesses address the world’s severe food crises, its energy and ecological security needs and its deep housing shortage.
These businesses also create jobs for villagers and community development income through land leases and profit sharing. To most effectively maximize the use of the community’s income, we created the Access Platform™ – a comprehensive set of online resources, intelligent applications and learning tools to collectively address needs for clean water, education, healthcare, orphanages, care for the elderly, etc. for enduring social and environmental benefits. We connect our clients to the Access Platform™ so they can monitor the measurable impact their purchases are having in the community to help meet their internal corporate responsibility and sustainability objectives.
