Thank you for your interest in donating to Village Corps.
Each dollar we raise for Village Corps goes directly to the villages. This is possible because Village Corps operates as an all volunteer network in order to keep overhead costs to a minimum. As we grow, we will need to hire full time staff and to compensate these individuals we will seek direct sponsorships to meet those financial obligations. In doing so, you know that dollar for dollar of the money you donate goes directly to the village (minus any money wiring fees or credit card processing fees that we are striving to keep to a minimum!)
At this point, we are working with our first village in the Eastern Cape in South Africa called Zweledinga. By visiting the village profile page for Zweledinga, you can see all the projects that the villagers decided were the most important to them and will have the greatest impact for their community.
Currently, we are applying for our status as a 501( c ) 3 organization for which we hope to secure our status in the spring of 2010. Until that time, we can accept donations in the form of a check, money order or wire transfer – but, not credit cards.
